About

Roger Price was born and raised in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, long before Barack Obama decided to settle there. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and received a juris doctor degree from The University of Chicago Law School, where he served as an editor of the Law Review. Following a clerkship for United States District Court Judge Abraham Lincoln Marovitz, Roger entered private practice. He retired recently from Seyfarth Shaw, LLP.

Schooled in a Conservative congregation, Roger was a member of the July, 1964 Aliyah at Brandeis Camp Institute (now Brandeis Collegiate Institute) in California where he met and studied with Mordecai M. Kaplan.  Subsequently, he became president of the Jewish Reconstructionist Congregation in Evanston, Illinois and then president of the Federation of Reconstructionist Congregations and Havurot (now the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation). He is currently a member of Beth Emet, a Reform congregation in Evanston, Illinois. He has spoken and written on numerous Jewish topics over the years, and is now concerned primarily with Judaism and science.

Roger is married to the remarkable Marilyn Price. See www.marilynprice.com. He is the proud father of Matt and Sarah and the button popping Pappy of three.
